Since my last couple of posts on water rights, including the last one with the paperwork from Bob Oxford, I have heard from Grover, Clarence and Lynn.
Without unanimous consent I don't feel we can move forward on this as it potentially involves a considerable amount of money.
A reminder that Bob says it will take 2-3 months to work the process and that probably by the first of the year the State of NM will move to take away any excess rights.
Maurine also didn't respond to the requests to pay Bob Oxford for his work, so I have done that. I will expect to be reimbursed before we proceed on this issue.
What happened to the offer on Mom's house? Has it evaporated?

I spoke with Bob Oxford (irrigation consultant) today. A couple of weeks ago he had an appointment with Harvey to walk the farm to verify that we were using all the allotted water. After that appointment he feels that we are ok for the present time, that the State would be unable to remove any water rights, with the possible exception of a minimal amount around the well site in #3.
ReplyDeleteAs you will remember, the State had already removed water rights from the land across the canyon.
Bob doesn't feel like we need to do anything at this point since the farm is fully utilizing the irrigation water.
Bob indicated that he would not be sending an additional bill.
Any questions?
